Uncomfortable...
“Allow yourself the opportunity to get uncomfortable.” —Alex Toussaint
I heard the above quote during a Peloton class and it resonated with me. When I started doing Crossfit many years ago, I remember a particular moment when I was coming in from a run and I was trying to mask how hard I was breathing because I was struggling just to keep up and I didn’t want others to know. I even took things down a notch so it “appeared” I was doing just fine. What I didn’t know at that moment but took some time to latch on to was the idea that you will likely be very uncomfortable when you are trying to go to the next level in anything.
When you are trying to become healthier, run faster or longer, lift more, get your financial house in order, or start a business there are going to be a lot of moments where you have to step outside of your comfort zone.
Be ok with some of the pain, discomfort, and struggle that comes with doing things differently. It’s in all those small moments that real change happens.
