If you're chasing long-term fitness results, forget quick fixes and flashy trends. The real key? Routine.
I was fortunate to learn early on how important finding a routine is to finding my success. People cringe at my 3:30am wake up time but I know exactly what time I am going to wake up every day and I head straight to the gym. I not longer have to think about working out I just do it.
Routine is what turns fitness from a haphazard goal into a lifestyle. It’s the quiet force behind every success story—from running marathons to making sure you get a few mins of stretching in before you go to bed.
Here’s why routine works:
Consistency beats intensity
You don’t need to go all-out every session. Showing up regularly—even for a short workout—has compounding effects.
Routine eliminates decision fatigue
When fitness is part of your schedule, it’s not a debate. You’re not deciding if you'll work out—just when.
Momentum builds motivation
Routines create progress. Progress creates motivation. And motivation keeps the momentum going.
Health becomes automatic
You don’t have to think about brushing your teeth. Why? It’s routine. Fitness can feel the same way—with time.
If you are reinventing the wheel every day you are not doing it right. Decide on a time to workout and just show up. Every workout won’t be amazing but you are slowly building a habit.
