The Art of Discipline
“However, the easiest way to achieve more discipline is by eliminating toxic temptations and destructive distractions. Discipline is a matter of subtraction, not addition.”
~Craig Ballantyne The Dark Side of Discipline
Over the years I have learned that discipline is much more about what you are not doing than what you are doing.
*Not staying up late and going to be early so I can start my day with proper rest.
*Not keeping food around that I know I have no self-control with (Cheez-its anyone?).
*Not leaving my workouts to guesswork so I am not tempted to not do them or waste time thinking of what to do.
*Not spending time scrolling social media or playing games on my phone so I have more time to get things done and enjoy my free time when I do have it.
*Not putting my head in the sand about my finances or health so I know the next right decision I need to make.
When I want to achieve a goal, I get rid of the things that I know will not support that goal and find the things I need to be doing to move the ball forward.
Discipline doesn’t have to be hard. Find out what you can get rid and you might be surprised as how easy doing the right thing is.
