Speaking up...
Have you told someone?
“Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.”
Sometimes sharing where are at is really hard. It requires a willingness to be open and honest with those around us. It also requires a whole lot of courage and humility!
Two things have recently transpired with the start of the new year. First, I am working through my own necessity to share and seek the support system I need in this season of my life. Second, I have had the opportunity to have some one-on-one sessions with clients about where they are at nutritionally and physically. Both situations have made me highly aware of the challenges of opening up to others and the courage to ask for help.
Sometimes we get so far down a path we are unable to get back out alone. We need someone or a whole lot of someone’s to help us reverse the vehicle and point us in the right direction.
The first step is being honest that you need a better support system then the one you can provide for yourself. Second, you need to look around and see who you can enlist to help you chart a different voyage. You will usually be pleasantly surprised at who wants to help. There have been plenty of times along the way where I have had to seek support and I have always found individuals who had the right tools and knowledge to guide me in the right direction…I just had to do the hard part…ASK!
If you are struggling with your health and fitness goals right now and need some additional support please reach out to me. It could be you need some accountability. It could be you just need some more tools in the tool box. Maybe you just need to be reminded what you already know. Regardless, asking is always the first step!
