We are settling into that part of the year where those New Year goals seem like a distant memory. Life has ebbed its way in and probably already thrown you some curve balls.
I have 3 very specific fitness/physical goals I am working on for 2025. I had some strong momentum coming into the year but have had multiple rounds of sickness that have sidelined a lot of my activity towards those goals.
Honestly, its taken some intentional moments of meditation and quiet moments to refocus and stay on the straight and narrow. It’s easy when things start to get messy to forget what you are doing or why you are doing it. But continuing on-no matter what, is how you sustain that long term momentum you need to reach your goals.
A few things I do to “continue on” even when I don’t feel like it…
Meal prep even when I don’t feel great. I always try and make sure I have healthy meals at my disposal. If I can’t meal prep, I will hit MyFit foods.
I have a small journal next to my bed and the only thing I have in it are my big hairy goals for 2025 and my why’s. It’s the first thing I look at in the morning so I keep these things top of mind.
I have a trainer I meet with twice a week. Yes, I know how to workout. Yes, I know what I need to do to reach my goals. But having accountability and someone who can offer feedback, wisdom and a different approach keeps me focused.
I have a business coach. Again, accountability is the name of the game.
I have a “Friday Finisher” list I create every Friday before the next week. This is a list of things I absolutely must get done that next week. These are game changing things. Things that move the ball forward. Once those things are done if I have time I will work on some of the less important things.
Motivation will ebb and flow but choosing to stick to the plan and carry on is how you sustain long-term success.
