Hydration!
You are not a cactus...drink more water!
NUTRIONAL FACT:
If you are drink a gallon of water per day, you won’t have time for other people’s drama because you’ll be too busy peeing. Stay hydrated my friends.
If you have been around me for any length of time, you know I carry a pretty large judge of water around. I fill it up in the morning and finish throughout the day. Yes, this does mean I find myself in the bathroom often but it also means I don’t suffer from the occasional headache, my skin stays hydrated, my body performs better and I feel better over all….small price to pay for a few extra bathroom breaks.
As much as I value and appreciate working out, cardio, and eating correctly I will never stop preaching the essential benefits of drinking enough water and staying hydrated.
If you feel run down often and especially after workouts, you are probably dehydrated. If you are experiencing muscle cramps, you are likely dehydrated. If you are not winning the lottery…probably dehydrated…just kidding! But seriously a lot of mystery symptoms are usually made better with some extra water in your system.
Water is pretty amazing but I would also highly suggest adding electrolytes to your daily routine. They play an important role in regulating nerve and muscle function, maintaining the acid-base balance in our system and keeping our heart rate steady. I have a ton of recommendations if you are in search for a good electrolytes just reach out to me.
If drinking water is a challenge for you start with a small goal like 4 bottles of water a day and break it up so every three hours after you start your day you are drinking a bottle. Add more when you feel ready. Set alarms on your phone if you tend to forget about grabbing the bottle. You may also try carrying around an obnoxiously large bottle like me (lol) and just focus on finishing before the end of the day. What ever it takes to get what you need in!
