Embrace the Hard Stuff – That’s Where the Growth Is

Even Coaches Have Weak Spots

“Don’t hard things is the spark that reveals your true strength”

~Tara Meyer-Robson

I’ve been working out for years and have gained strength in countless exercises—but there are still two movements that continue to challenge me: push-ups and pull-ups.

Despite consistent training and targeted accessory work, they remain tough. Honestly, I don’t enjoy them much, and they’re far from my best lifts.

And yet—I still do them. Regularly.

Why? Because I know how important they are. Push-ups and pull-ups are foundational movements that carry over into real-life strength and function. They’re not just exercises—they're tools for building long-term resilience and capability.

Here's the truth: progress often lives in the uncomfortable. The hard stuff—the exercises we dread, the habits we resist—that’s where change happens.

If you're avoiding a particular movement because it’s difficult, you're not alone. But you can get better—and I can help.

If you’re struggling with a movement or want guidance on how to work it into your training more effectively, reply to this email or reach out. I’d love to support you on your journey.
